1、 Overview

HM2012B Vibration Monitor is a double-channel instrument (hereinafter referred to as
HM2012B). It can receive two-channel signals at the same time, which is from two magnetoelectric
velocity sensors. and it also can be used for continuously monitoring and measuring absolute
vibration peak-peak value or vibration speed average value (intensity) of various rotary bearings.
The monitor is provided with (4~20) mA current output which is corresponds to vibratory
measuring range or intensity measuring range. The LED lamps are used to indicate the ultralimit
alarm, the ultralimit alarm have corresponding relay switching signal output.
The monitor uses common MODBUS-RTU communication protocol and the standard RS485
communication interface. The parameters and the working mode of the monitor can be set and
configured on LCD. The meter can monitor vibration amplitude and vibration speed, but one of them
needs to be set as main parameter. After setting the main parameter, both alarm and (4 - 20) mA
current output of the monitor are corresponding to main parameter.
The monitor can be used in inflammable and explosive environment when it matches with SZ-6i
intrinsic safety type Magnetoelectric Velocity Sensor. The explosion-proof level of intrinsic safety is
Exia ⅡC T6 Ga.
DCS、PLC and PC can achieve remote communication and monitoring with the monitor easily.
It is widely used in the industry of power, fan, steel, petrochemical, etc.
2、 Application
It is suitable for the monitoring and protection of rotating machineries’ bearing vibration, such
as steam turbine, water turbine, generator, fan, pump and so on.
3、 Function
1). The advanced ARM high performance embedded processor, high availability of hardware
design and rich software programming function are adopted for the monitor. The linearity, frequency

response, temperature drift and anti-jamming ability of sensor and monitor are maximally improved.
In addition, all the parameters are digital setting to ensure that the system’s measurement accuracy
is much higher and protection actions are more reliable.
2). HM2012B can monitor the rotating machineries’ vibration amplitude and vibration speed,
it can be switched in configuration interface.
3). The parameters can be viewed and set in the user configuration interface on LCD, and it
includes meter address, range, alarm value setting, alarm delay value, alarm relay output logic, the
output of (4 ~ 20) mA current which is corresponding to the range, ect.
4). The setting dates and historical records can be queried at anytime.
5). The monitor has RS485 communication interface and adopts the universal
MODBUS-RTU communication protocol.
4、 The introduction of operation interface and instructions
4.1 Panel introduction
The operation panel of HM2012B is composed of a reset button, four alarm lights and a touch
screen, as shown in Figure 4.1. Each channel have two level alarm: alarmⅠ and alarm Ⅱ ,The
four alarm lights indicate channel A alarmⅠ, channel A alarm Ⅱ, channel B alarmⅠ, channel B
alarm Ⅱ.

4.2 Main interface introduction
1). As shown in Figure 4.2.1, 4.2.2, when the channels are under the normal working
condition, the measured data will be displayed on the main interface in the form of a list or histogram.
The list interface contains measured values, alarm parameters, peak values, reset modes and ranges.
The histogram interface contains measured values, alarm parameters and ranges. the two display
modes can be changed in the user advanced configuration interface;

2). When “alarm value < display value < danger value ”,the display value or the
histogram will show in yellow; When “display value > danger value ”, the display value or the
histogram will show in red;

3). When one of the channel is disabled, the main interface only shows another channel’
relevant information, as shown in Figure 4.2.3, 4.2.4; When all channels are closed, the main
interface is shown in Figure 4.2.5;
